About me (and my chin)

To introduce myself to the lovely members of White Space I was asked to do a short presentation. I decided to create a song/video combo and play it to them...

How to keep your Smart car safe...

My entry for Smart Car's competition, where the brief was to come up with an idea for how to keep a Smart car safe, and create an animation to go with it. Here is my entry, which came second :)

E4 Sting...

A little video I made for the E4 competition to create a new 'sting' for their channel. It's no where near as technical as a lot of the entrants, but I had fun making it! :)

I LOVE ALDI !!!

A short video I made for a competition to win some Aldi vouchers.. We were asked simply to create a video telling them which of Aldi's products we liked best, and I absolutely love their peanut butter.
Please vote for it on this link, to make my dad a very happy man!!

Project Brief_Sign Systems

Following on from the corporate identity project, we were to choose one of our logos and develop a sign system for it within a building of our choice. I chose the Open House logo, a place where children aged 11-16 can come and talk about their issues, escape home or just chill out. I designed a flow chart system to help visitors decide which room they need, and used a collaged theme similar to that of my initial logo.

...I also created a 'digital' alternative of the flow chart, keeping with the times...

Project Brief_Sell Ice to an Eskimo

The latest brief was simple to 'Sell Ice to an Eskimo'. I decided that the best way to sell it to them would be in the form of 'ice plugs', filling in those exposed 'fishing holes' to prevent comedy mishaps. I considered the language barrier and decided that for this brief, pictures would speak louder than words. I thought about digital moving image to tell the story, but felt that sending a physical item in a paper boat was far more appealing... ("ICY PLUGS - YOU SEE PLUGS")

Project Brief 5_Summative

The latest brief was to create a piece of design that would evaluate our projects from the past term. I decided to create a piece of moving image using stop-motion and edited in After Effects. There are a lot of issues with it, but on the whole I am pleased with how it turned out. I have found a new love for moving image, and can see it becoming something which I revisit often :)

Kinetic Typography_Napoleon Dynamite

My first attempt at kinetic typography! I've been learning the basics of Adobe After Effects, and our brief was to create some moving text to match an extract from a film. I chose one of my favourite scenes from Napoleon Dynamite :) I look forward to learning more about After Effects!

Have you ever loved and lost a strudel?

Last year I was reminiscing about some delicious apple strudel I ate in Italy, and I decided to write a song about it. It was my first attempt at 'animation', which I created using multiple images created in Photoshop. I then recorded myself singing the lyrics, to the tune of "Have You Ever" by S Club 7. Although very rough around the edges (particularly on the singing front!), it makes me chuckle...
